Palapas Ventana - IANTD Facility

 

Palapas Ventana is an awesome IANTD Facility located in La Ventana, in Baja California Sur.  For a little more help to imagine where this facility is located, it’s very near the city of La Paz (40 minutes) and 3 hours north of Cabo San Lucas.  Palapas Ventana is located on the water’s edge only 8 miles from Cerralvo Island (otherwise known as Jacque Cousteau Island).

Palapas Ventana has been in operation for 17 great years, and currently has 2 IANTD Instructors and one Instructor Trainer.  Palapas is unique as an IANTD Facility in that they offer regular Freediving diver and Instructor Programs.  They offer Open water, Advanced & Master Freediver courses all year long in addition to all levels of SCUBA.

Palapas la Ventana has 5 boats, all pangas.  They run boat trips for SCUBA and Freediving to Cerralvo Island and the close surrounding area.  In addition to day trips and training they have a full selection of rental gear, offer air and nitrox fills, in addition to offering multiple other sports.  Palapas offers many onsite casitas to stay and has a full service restaurant / bar.

Palapas is well known for its community fundraisers and events giving back to the locals of La Ventana.  One recent program that started during the COVID pandemic is they started up a “mask factory” making and donating 100 mask every friday to the local government and local Ambulance service.  

Last week the BCS Government gave permission to open,  Palapas have passed all the mandatory COVID19 exams and are taking all necessary safety and hygiene precautions to ensure you and your family are safe while staying with them.
